Go to Sales, then Point of sale and cash drawer.
Set it up:
- Passcodes: set your own passcode (4 to 8 digits), and one for each person who works for you. Tick Manager for people who can give refunds, give discounts over your limit, and close other people's shifts.
- Card readers: turn on a Stripe card reader and type the code it shows. (Tap to Pay on phones isn't available yet.)
- Discount limit: in Payouts and payment settings. Discounts over it need a manager's or your passcode. It starts at 10%.
At the register: choose Open the register. Whoever is at it types their passcode for each sale or payment, so everything is recorded under them.
- New sale: scan a barcode (with a scanner, or your phone's camera), choose a product, or type something in. Add a coupon or a one-off discount, and the customer's email for a receipt.
- Something they owe: add a booking or an invoice to the sale, next to any products, so it's all one payment and one receipt.
- Ways to pay: cash (we show the change), card reader, a QR code the customer scans to pay on their own phone, a gift card, or a check. You can split one total between them.
- Cash drawer: open your shift with the cash you start with. Put cash in or take it out with a reason. When you're done, count the drawer: we show what we expected, what you counted, and the difference.
- Refunds: the owner or a manager only. Cash comes out of their drawer.
- Today's summary by person: what each person took and how, refunds, discounts, and their shifts.
A shared phone or tablet: choose Make this a shared register. Only the register opens on it until you sign in again.
